A demanding music lover with a passion for technology and music, and a keen DIY enthusiast, Pierre Riffaud uses his limited resources to modify certain models of top-of-the-range record players, despite their reputation, in order to constantly improve their sound quality. After several years of research, he decided to gather the fruits of his “findings” and apply them to a model of his own creation. This is how the
Épure
model for audiophiles, which has since become legendary.
Some of his discoveries become patented technology.
Riffaud turntables are based on well-established concepts that guarantee the best sound results, such as mass as a barrier to stationary resonance, decoupling of the system by a suspension principle, belt drive, use of synchronous motors, speed regulation by kinetic energy, and so on. And the use of a radial clearance-free precision tapered roller bearing. (Patent FR3092151)
